Two travelling monks reached a river.
They met a young woman. She asked if they could carry her across. The first monk hesitated, but the second quickly picked her up onto his shoulders, transported her across the water, and put her down on the other bank. She thanked him and departed.
The first monk did not speak again until night, when they reached a lodging temple. Then he said: "Our spiritual training teaches us to avoid any contact with women, but you picked that one up on your shoulders and carried her!"
I left the girl back there," the second monk replied. "Are you still carrying her?"
